on-her-nishiki

evidently my little Ronnie http://on-her-nishiki.deviantart.com/art/Ronnie-88864483 has been getting around and making friends, because he's been featured as an example of sock dolls on the Artisan Crafts Club's Monthly Challenge Project! wow! totally neat. and i have this silly book to blame it on:'stupid sock creatures' by John Murphy very fun book. i've only made two creatures [hugo and humphrey bogart] strictly "on pattern" from the book, but that's only half the fun. the other half is letting your imagination (and your socks) decide what to make. i also recently bought Daniel Ta's book 'stray sock sewing' but have yet to try it out. m

new, and old new pictures have been going up. mostly flowers and landscapes. i am lame, but happy in my lameness, because i have made photoshop do the two, entirely simple things that i wanted it to do. i'm so easily entertained! :roll: all the new sock creations are now up and showing themselves off. the little critters love their photoshoots. i did finish one tonight for my brother... now i just have to find a box to mail him in. but not before i take his picture. at least two more will hopefully be appearing soon. yay!

i think that says it all, really. though moving across country, trying to get my job/volunteering figured out, trying to get the wife's buisness up and running, etc., has been reason enough to put pretty pictures on the back burner for a bit.    but the computer is full of them, so hopefully they shall be appearing here soon, along with the latest crop of critters who used to be footwear. i'm trying to stick to previously loved (the wife says i'm proving that there is a sock afterlife!) socks as a basis (thank gods for sori ( Squigglepoof (https://www.deviantart.com/squigglepoof) )and her feet which refuse to be boring)and usually start with a recipient in mind and work from t
